How to Make a Gel Candle

Make sure you have all your materials at the ready when making gel candles.  Have your oven pre-heated to 225 degrees.  Melting the gel is what takes the most time.  Heating the gel in a measuring cup is the safest way, it takes about an hour.   I would place it on a cookie sheet to protect from spills.  Have your color, fragrance oil and embeds ready.  Also, you should pick your container and have it pre-wicked.  When the gel is heated through, slowly stir in your coloring and fragrance.  At about 185-200 degrees slowly pour the gel into your container.  Finally, add whatever special adornments you like.  Let cool and then use.
