When I found out that I can get a free copy of my credit report from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion credit report companies, I was quite relieved.  Each company’s report is quite detailed.  I was able to verify my current address, previous address, legal name, among other items.  I was also able to check on whether the creditors recorded any late payments.  All you need to get your free credit reports is your name, address, Social Security number, and date of birth. You can apply online, via phone, or via regular mail. I’m very please to be able to get these report free every year.
